Once Lovey's injury turned out to not be life threatening, Murray & I went ahead with our plans to go out & shop for the girls' birthday. Since we were a little late getting started, we just had a quick bite before hitting Toys R Us. Murray's parents wanted us to pick out bikes for their present to them. We made a lovely selection of the Ariel model with clamshell storage area and pom poms on the handlebars.... very stylin'. We also picked up a few little things that will be from us. Murray's built them a sandbox and the sand is coming on Monday so that's their main present.
Even thought it was shopping, Murray enjoyed our "date" and so did I! Thanks for babysitting Mumma!

Poor Lovey!
We were having a nice day, played and played and played in the house. After lunch we went outside to wait for Grammie and went for a little walk & then got hot so we got ready to go in the pool. The water was quite warm from all the sun we've had this week & they all jumped right in. Then Lovey decided to lay on the side of the pool and somehow slipped off and landed with her arm underneath her and immediately started crying/screaming. The arm became a bit discolouredd and she wouldn't let me come anywhere near it & howled if I touched it at all.
Luckily Mum arrived a few minutes after this happened and after half an hour, when Lovey didn't seem to be calming down any, I decided to take her into emerg. It was one of our shorter visits, less than 2 hrs. They took xrays of her arm and a niiiiiiiiiiiiiice (looking) doctor talked to her and checked her out but couldn't determine anything. Since toddler bones aren't all calcified at this age, you can't see some of them on xray. He said that just because they didn't see any break, didn't mean there wasn't one. We're to watch her til Monday & if there's no improvement, I think she gets a cast... but hopefully not!
I was in the middle of taking some pictures of them playing and got this sad one of her after it happened. Not a happy camper!
Murray's set up a YouTube account & is uploading some pool footage from last week. With all the jumping around, you might expect they'd break something but this isn't how she got hurt! She was just lying on her belly & slipped off the side onto the grass! The link for the videos is http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=kelmursimpson

Shirley Day!
When Honey woke up this morning, I told her it was Thursday and that Shirley was coming to visit. She hopped right out, "Shirley!!!" and started running for the living room. I had to explain that she wasn't here yet but would arrive soon. When I was getting her dressed, I mentioned it again and she said "I love Shirley the mostest and the mostest". It was too cute & I got her to tell Shirley when she came.
Shirley arrived bearing gifts for the girls' bday, a little early but it looks like we probably won't see her til the fall. The kids were in heaven, NEW baby dolls. Shirley said she had liked dolls alot as a kid & remembers getting her last one when she was 13. These new ones can 'talk'. If you squeeze them, they cry, say "mama", "papa" and also giggle. As if there isn't crying going on here 25% of the time already!!!
My girls like mud!
We went for a walk today but didn't get far before something caught their eye! A mud puddle in the ditch across the street from our neighbour's. So much for getting any exercise! They threw rocks, used grass to dip in the water and paint on the big rocks and various other mud puddle related activities for the better part of an hour. I was very glad we'd put on nice dresses and all our fancy jewelry for this event!

Slow day
Not too much to report! We went to playgroup this morning & had a nice time with all the other moms & kids. It's the fastest 2 hours of the week I swear! Had a chance to chat with Shelley and learned a new trick in Photoshop! I could talk photography with her for hours! Instead I try to cram in as many questions as I can in about 20 minutes or whenever we're both free from distractions while the kids are busy playing. Ok, look what I can do:
I know it's not exactly rocket science but just a neat little effect that I NEVER would have stumbled onto on my own. Now if I could just learn something new each week, I'd have all her tricks figured out in about 42 years!

A new day!
Well after yesterday being so rotten, I felt really worn out and a little off kilter. It seemed all day long they were pushing every button they could find and then dancing on my last nerves. It left me feeling a little shaky and as if I was going to have some sort of breakdown! I went out for a dinner at the church but couldn't really enjoy it much, although the ladies put on an excellent meal. I came home had a nice long shower (bye bye glam hair) and was asleep by 10:15. I slept til 8:05 with only the odd bathroom break in between. Do you think I was a little tired maybe? Hopefully that's the reason behind all the jitters and anxiety yesterday...
Today was much better! We had early intervention in the morning and a visitor who'd read about us in the paper & wanted to meet the girls. She was from a large family & when she was 11 her mother had triplet boys & it sounds like she was pretty involved in raising them. I invited her to be a speaker for our moms of multiples meeting next week but she really wanted to meet the girls beforehand. We seem to have alot in common, 'her' triplets were also 10 weeks early, the mother was 33 when they were born, the babies all weighed around 3lbs 5 oz, she has a labrador retriever and she drives a Subaru! Brenda seemed to really enjoy the visit and although totally unnecessary, brought them each an individual gift (book) plus one to share, a new play tent. She mentioned that she & her husband had wanted children but were never able to have any, which could very well have been Murray & I 30 years ago.
This afternoon the weather cleared & I wasted no time getting them outside! We didn't get very far down the road before they found some water in the ditch and spent about an hour throwing rocks. I just let them play and practiced shooting! Lovey insisted on keeping her hood on the entire time so I didn't get anything really good of her today but once I cropped and edited the other 2, I was quite happy with them.

Grammie & Grandad's
Another Sunday family dinner at Grammie & Grandad's. When we got there, all the kids were asleep so Murray offered to stay in the car and snooze too. Honey woke up not long afterwards but the rest dozed for quite awhile.
Grammie got the girls some snazzy new hats. In case you're wondering, yes, they ARE very sparkly!
Since Honey was the only one awake, I had time to focus on her & managed to get several cute shots. Usually she's the hard one to catch.
Honey recently told Grandad that she'd give him a kiss "maybe in two years"! He was quite happy she didn't stick to this timeline!
Afternoon Fun in the Sun!
Having heard that the next few days are supposed to be rainy, I thought we should get the kids outside as much as possible today & save all the indoor toys, activities & movies for all the indoor weather coming.
The morning started off a little rocky but Murray did let me sleep in, even though he'd stayed up til 1:30 playing video games & Lovey woke up at 6:40am. I was unaware of how little sleep he'd actually had when I accepted his 'you can sleep in' offer. I vaguely heard some screaming & crying and then the next thing I knew, it was 8:30! It was a little rough getting out the door for church but once we were out it wasn't too bad.
After lunch Murray took them out to their pool while I got the kitchen cleaned and mopped. We're having way too many ant visitors so I'm trying to keep their menu selection extremely limited.
They went in their pool for awhile but then they were "freezing" and wanted out. While they were swimming, Murray serenaded them on the guitar.
