Fashion Faux Pas

I had helped Lovey put her hair up in a high pony tail and it stayed there for most of the day. At bedtime she took it out and was surprised at the resulting style. She came out of the bathroom, laughing incredulously.

Lovey: MUM!!!!LOOK at my HAIR!!!! DAD LOOOOK!!!!
Me: oh wow, it looks nice!
Murray: yeah, it's great Lovey, I like it!
Lovey: (collapsing into giggles) MUM! DAD! It's NOT the 80s!!!

Violin Dry Run

To get ready for violin competition week, Lovey's teacher put together a small concert so the kids could practice their pieces in front of an audience. This is the stuff Lovey lives for, a crowd! She carefully chose her outfit and accessories. She requested that I put her hair in a bun and off we went!

Just before it was her turn, her teacher announced her and said "I just have to tell you, your hair looks perfect! She always likes to make sure her hair is good before she starts to play!" It cracked us up because it's so true, Lovey always does a quick pat to make sure it's all ok before she goes up. Hockey players have playoff beards right? Well this is her good luck ritual maybe! Playing in front of people doesn't concern her but she will NOT have a bad hair day doing it! As usual she gave a strong performance and sounded lovely!

Stylin'

Sweetie was quite determined to wear this outfit this afternoon! At first she could only find the top and hunted for the culottes that go with it. When she couldn't find them, she came to me & I remembered putting them in the wash today. She immediately went to search through the dryer but it was a load of whites and the darks were still in the wash. She emptied the dryer, climbed up and started pulling all the darks out of the washer! Where there's a will, there's a way, especially in that girl! I came down & helped her before she could tumble to her death off the appliances. Once the load was dry, she changed over, fixed her hair, put on her best jewelry and even a touch of makeup! I'm not sure what the occasion was as we had no plans to go anywhere but she was rockin' that outfit!
