I even invited a couple friends from playgroup to come to our house while their mom ran errands! She'll be thanking me for that in a couple days no doubt! We all had lunch and then I was getting everyone suited up to go play outdoors in the nice sun & snow. I was just finishing Honey when she decided she wasn't sure if she wanted to go outside or not and then mentioned her tummy felt funny and then frantically said "I think I might need to go puuRAOUOGHOUGHAUUUGH" and I was trying to debate if I had enough time to get from the entryway to the bathroom. I just got her turned around facing the stairs when the mess hit. I managed to contain most of it to the tile & none on the stairs. Poor girl, she hates to make a mess and is always upset when she doesn't get to the toilet. Last time she started to cry about having gotten it all over the bathroom floor and I had to tell her several times that it was just a floor and it was an accident and didn't matter, she was more important than an old floor! She rather liked that idea and tested it out a few times to see if I'd stick with my story! Every once in awhile out of the blue she'd mention how she'd thrown up on the floor and then look at me and nervously say "but it didn't really matter Mumma right? because you sink I'm more important than a floor, right????? it's true right Mumma?????" She must have asked that half a dozen times! Anyway, the message must have gotten through because she didn't seem to be upset about the mess this time and just let me clean her up without any concerns.
We had playgroup today and Honey wasn't very interested in playing and kept saying she was tired but I didn't imagine it was anything serious. We JUST got over the flu last week so surely it couldn't be illness related.... I'm so delusional!
I, on the other hand, had some concerns! I'd just sent four 4½ year olds out the front door on their own! I had to run Honey to the bathroom but as soon as she was ok, I ran to the front door yelling for the other girls. No answer. I yell again, louder, a little more agitated-ish. Nothing but faint giggles. Little turkeys are hiding and having fun with me but I really need to know where the heck they are to make sure they're not out on the road or something! I holler again and the giggles are louder but now I can pinpoint that they're coming from the back. I run up the stairs & look out the kitchen window. My 2 had taught the 2 guests how to scale the fence & get into the backyard. Whew! Smart girls! Everyone's safe & having a good time so I don't have to go out & drag them back from the field or anything.
Honey decides she still wants to go outside & I figure the sun & fresh air won't hurt so we get her dressed & out she goes. Then Lovey's at the front door needing in to go to the bathroom. I'd gotten everyone to pee before suiting up so this isn't a good sign! She was alright but had a fit about her boots & the way her pants were lining up on her leg as she tried to put her snowsuit back on and that was a bit of fun to add to the already oh so pleasant afternoon. Finally we got the proper angle for the seam of her pants and the correct alignment of the stars for her snowpants etc and she went back outside as I got ready to clean up the floor.
I'd just gotten the first wipe through done, removing most debris when the doorbell rang. The mom's back & what a welcome for her. We wasted no time in getting her girls in from the backyard & out the door to the land of the less germy! I soooooooooo hope they don't get this from us!
The rest of the day was pretty calm. I mopped up, they watched a movie and no more barfing. Honey went to lay down and the rest of us ate supper (Lovey & Sweetie BOTH ate a good supper!!!!) and I got ready to go to the gym. I was afraid everything was going to go to crap after I left so I came straight home after my class but Murray said it was fine. All's quiet so far so I think I'll head to bed soon, just in case it doesn't stay that way!
(the pictures are from the other day, the nice young man in the blue coat came over & did a bit of snowblowing for me, he's such a nice guy!!!)
