A couple of years ago, the girls got one of those old fasioned Dick & Jane readers for Christmas. Recently, we've gotten it out for Honey & showed her how to sound out some words. Well she's really taken to it and can read about 20 some pages in this book now. It's a lot of repetition and very simple words & short sentences but I am still in awe of her being able to do any reading at all!
Lovey wants to do as well as Honey and is frustrated that she can't get as far in the book. She hasn't tried or practiced nearly as much though and she doesn't like it that Honey's getting ahead of her. I'll have to try and work with her a bit more, she gets so frustrated when something doesn't work for her the way she expects it to. I don't want her getting mad about reading and then not want to ever try again!
