Can you say "MIA" ???

This whole "school" business is really crimping my style! (well, what little style I had that is!) Every morning it's rush rush rush & get out the door. No time to play on the computer there. The girls are all still enjoying it but there is at least one each day who protests the getting ready process and declares they're NOT going. I eventually convince them all that they are indeed going and hustle them into the car & zip across town to drop them off. The minute they step foot in the building, they run off without a backwards glance. So that's how much they hate it there. I love that they're comfortable & don't mind being dropped off. I have to chase them down to say goodbye & tell them I'll be back in awhile and they're fine with it so far.

Their teacher's name is Michael. I wasn't sure how a male teacher would go over but it didn't seem to faze them luckily. I asked him the other day how the girls were doing, and mentioned that I wondered if Sweetie had been the one I had the hardest time getting to focus on a task & stick with it for any length of time at home. He said that there weren't any problems there at all but that she really likes to go first & be picked for things like putting the weather on the board (or something like that). Of course she doesn't get picked every day and when she doesn't, she folds her arms across her chest, squints her eyes & sticks out her bottom lip and gives him the evil glare! As he was explaining it, I did the pose & he laughed & said "yeah, that's it". Not optimal but oh man, she COULD do so much worse that I was pleased to hear she's just giving dirty looks...of course, it's only the 2nd week....

When we get home each day, it's lunch time so scramble to throw something together because of course, I didn't get up early enough to prep anything to be ready for us upon our return! After that there doesnt' seem to be much time left til supper and if they need a bath or I take them out for a walk, boom, the day's shot.

I'm still going to the gym several evenings a week, I get home from there, do a bit of laundry/housework but not much, I refuse to do any work after 9pm. I'm sorta lazy that way! The clothing sale is coming up so there's lots of email on that & organization and I don't know what all else. I haven't even started to put together my own items to get priced & sorted....

It's nice having a couple hours in the morning to myself but I generally don't come home because we don't live near the school so I just kill time til I pick them up again. Sometimes I have errands & one day this week I hit the used clothing store & decided that since I've hardly bought myself any new clothes in 4 years, that I was getting anything I wanted! I had a cart FULL of shirts & pants to spruce up my wardrobe but such is the luck of the draw hardly anything fit & I ended up with 4 shirts and no pants at all. I also had a 50% off coupon for Michaels that was burning a hole in my pocket so I spent one morning browsing around in there but the one thing I decided I wanted was excluded from the deal so I left there empty handed. So far, having more free time isn't having much of an effect on the budget! lol

I'm having fun lining up appointments though! I can finally make plans! Want to know what exciting stuff I'm going to do that I've been waiting forever for? Go for a checkup at the doctor's! Go to the dentist! Get my hair cut! Get an oil change! I'm also meeting with Shooter Shelley this week! She's going to let me assist at her next wedding shoot so that's more exciting stuff.

I did some pictures for a couple people this week & have been working on editing, editing & more editing. It'd be nice if I took better pictures right in the camera & didn't have so much stuff to fix in photoshop later! Shona brought BJ over for supper last weekend so we got some of her & then a friend from playgroup wanted some family pics & I did that Monday night. I have finally finished up the Danadine wedding & just have to mail them their CD so that's one shoot wrapped up and I finished BJ's tonight & just have the family one left. I'm hoping to get that done before the weekend's out so I don't have that waiting while I do sale stuff but we'll see.

Murray, God bless him, took the girls apple picking & to a playground today so I could get some stuff done so Iwas able to make a lot of progress during that precious uninterrupted time. 3 cheers for Daddy!

So enough rambling, all you come here for is the pictures anyway right? Well heeeeeeeeere you go!

After playgroup on Wednesday the E sisters came to visit & we took them for a walk in the woods so they could see "Rock Mountain" it was verrrrrrrry exciting for all and we were in there for quite awhile. Five four year olds make for some interesting storylines as they raced around pretending this & that!

and to make our crazy house just a bit more fun, the girls are coming down with colds. Ugh. Murray's not impressed. He's been training like mad for a fast approaching marathon, is doing really well, his times have been improving, he's feeling good, all he has to do is not get sick before race day. Keep your fingers crossed for him!

Musical Interlude

On the weekend we went downtown where they were having a kids' event & had musical instruments for the kids to get their hands on. I'm not sure who the brave (or perhaps uninformed) souls were who left all their instruments for little kids to have their way with but I thank them!

The girls had a blast & got to try loads of stuff! They did a bit of electric guitar, violin, double bass, flute, trumpet, banjo, french horn, drums, a variety of percussion instruments etc. Everything was well sanitized between uses & volunteers were supervising the usage and it was very well done. We spent a lot of time going around to the different sections and it took quite awhile for them to get tired of playing.

They were impressed with Lovey's technique and how well she held the guitar so I explained that her dad played. They said they can usually tell when a sibling or parent plays because the kids know what to do!

Grampy's Treat!

Long time, no blog huh? I don't know what's going on lately, my evenings fritter away to nothing and I go to bed with no update done. I hate that feeling though, knowing several of you are going to check in and be disappointed...again. It's hard having stalkers! so much pressure to perform! : )))
Grampy came to town on Thursday for a little visit & took us out for lunch. The girls looooooooove going to a restaurant & were very anxious for Grampy to arrive so we could go.
They got their food and ate VERY little. The chicken fingers tasted a bit differently than McNuggets and that put them off. Grampy didn't seem overly fazed but I was a bit annoyed. They did behave very well & didn't cause any scenes so the outing did have some good points!
After a long hard day of preschool & lunch & shopping (Grampy was looking for a present for Mr. Bojangles), everybody got cozy on the couch for some R&R in the form of cartoons. They were pretty cute all snuggled in there. It was so cozy that Grampy dozed off a bit. : )))

Murray & Grampy went to a concert that evening and were out to the wee hours but had a great time. They said it was the best one they'd seen yet. I'm glad it was worth the trip. After the late night, we overslept the next morning and had to really hussle to get out the door for school, but we made it!

Thanks for coming Grampy!
