Tiiiiiiiiiiiny Bubbles

I had a great find at the grocery store on Friday! I was browsing the now discounted Easter items & found some bubble containers that don't spill if they tip over! I saw one of these a few years ago that someone else had but never in a store. So my long searched for item was a whole $1.44 (gotta love after the season sales!). The fact that they had Dora characters on them was just an added bonus. I waited til after supper to let them see them & they loved them. We took them outside after supper to try them out & they were a big hit and we didn't lose an entire container of bubbles in one sitting (which normally we do, at least once per use!)
No pictures of Sweetie as she couldn't stay still long enough because she got too cold.

Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures!

anybody else got these swarms of "snow fleas" in their yards???? Yuck!!!!!

We went to gymnastics this morning but Teena & Boo weren't able to make it to class. I knew they'd had car trouble the day before so wasn't surprised. I thought it would be fun to go over & visit them since they couldn't get out & we hadn't seen them in awhile. Unfortunately, Teena's employer felt they needed her more & she had to go in to work. I don't know who was more disappointed, me or the girls! However they bounced back quickly & suggested we visit someone else. Grammie? working. Nanny? also working & too far. GG? couldn't get her on the phone. They were desperate to visit someone!

Them: "who are we going to visit Mumma?"
Me: well, I don't know.
Lovey: well, I guess we can just go home and visit ourselves...
Sweetie: don't we have any friends we can visit??? that's SO sad!!!!

I decided to try a friend from choir whose house I'd only ever been to once, last weekend for our "Easter Eve" party. She was home & willing to let us invade. The kids were thrilled. Her daughter is about a year younger but as luck would have it, also obsessed with princesses. She had princess dress up clothes, princess barbie dolls, princess puzzles and even a princess decorated room! After an hour or so it was close to lunch time so I told them it was time to go home. Sweetie wasn't ready for that, "but I didn't have enough fun yet!"

By the time I got them out of there & home, they were starving! Before I could scramble eggs, they were raiding the pantry, requesting everything they could think of! Once lunch was over they were in better humour & ready to go outside to play.

More fun in the sun albeit a little on the snowy side but I'll take sunshine any way I can get it! Honey was very interested in playing "superhero" and would stand at the top of the snowbank & then charge down in her best hero pose! Then they wanted to be chased so we did that for awhile, then we cleaned up the backyard a bit and eventually came inside to watch "Melody" (aka The Little Mermaid II).

hanging out in the cave of wonders again...

I had choir tonight & we're hard at work preparing for the music festival so it was another long practice. By the end my voice is pretty much shot! It's a rough life, I know.

Is it STILL winter?????

It would seem that this snow is just not budging (despite strict orders from Old Nanny!). Yesterday however it was super sunny, bright & warm and the temperature was even a few degrees above zero! We played outside for two hours & it was sooooo nice to feel the sun warming my face even if it was a little hard on the eyes with all that glare.

Murray had Easter Monday off so I was expecting Tuesday to be a little rough. I'd had it pretty good for 4 days. I totally slacked off while he was home & read almost 2 entire novels (despite the best laid plans to get started on tagging for the sale!). I was pretty happy that the day wasn't nearly as arduous as I'd thought it would be. We baked cookies in the morning (Flossie cookies & they say it's so when we eat them, we can remember Flossie), had a decent lunch & headed right out with minimal squawking.

They pretended to be baby birds, practiced their flying, looked for worms and were more than a little disappointed when their nest building efforts didn't pan out.

Murray's been playing a lot of hockey this week, this is his 3rd game tonight I think. They're on a big winning streak as the year wraps up so they should finish well. They must have an awfully good defenceman in there somewhere! Not sure how he'll do tonight though, he hurt (sprained?) his hand/wrist. When I got home from bible study tonight, the A535 smell almost knocked me over when I stepped inside! He figures that & some Ibuprofen will fix him up though so we'll see how he makes out with that. This is the last week for ice time in regular season play. Then they have a tournament in a couple of weeks. I believe there might still be a few tickets left for those games if anyone needs any! LOL
Although I haven't actually started preparing any of my own merchandise for the clothing sale, I have been working on the planning & things seem to be coming together well there. I created a facebook event & before I'd even invited any of my own 'friends', over 40 people had found it & RSVP'd to attend. Now that I've told all my 'friends' and they've told all their 'friends', over 600 people have gotten invitations. Gotta love the internet! We can use all the free advertising we can get. Still almost a month to go so I expect the numbers to grow even more.

I finally sat down & finalized my order for our family photos. Shooter Shelley is sending it in with another customer's order this week so hopefully we'll have something to hang in the living room in a few weeks. I can't wait to see them in print! This will probably be the fanciest bit of decorating in the house so prepare to be amazed : )))

Happy Easter!

Well the Easter Bunny was here! And he didn't leave anyone empty handed at our house. The girls woke up & we knew as soon as they spotted the first candy. They were soooo funny as they got more and more excited about our nighttime friendly intruder. They kept saying "ohhhhhh! It's TOO much candy!!!" as they grabbed up little foil eggs & shoving them in their basket by the handful! I had the video camera going so hopefully there's some good footage!
We somehow got them to put down their baskets and eat some cereal and toast before starting to OD on sugar/chocolate and we still made it to church on time!

anybody else's mother put up Easter lights?

After lunch we got ready to go to Grammie & Grandad's where they had another Easter waiting for us. On the way there the car had some really bad shaking going on but we think it was just snow/ice packed into the wheel wells or something. After sitting in the sun for the afternoon it didn't do this at all on the way home. Dad & Murray checked it over, took it for another test drive and re torqued everything. While they were doing this, the girls were wasting no time inside delving into their baskets. By the time Dad & Murray came in the kid had already gone through everything & were playing with their new stuff. They especially liked their chirping chicks and their fuzzy new purple socks with traction stuff on the bottom. Honey was so taken with her new footwear that she choreographed a little number she called the "Grippy Dance" and would do a few moves and stop to ask "see me gripping?"

Grammie asked Honey if she liked the new my little pony underpants. Honey felt the need to set her straight & replied "It's not YOUR little pony Grammie!!!!!!" I don't know who my mother thought she was, laying claim like that.

We all had a great Easter & hope you all enjoyed some fun time involving chocolate and family too! :))
