Quiltorama!

This weekend the ladies in my family got together to do some quilting. My grandmother is almost 93 and has accumulated quite a few scraps of flannelette from all her many projects. In order to clear out the surplus, we had a quilting bee at one of my aunt's house. I learned that my seamstress skills really haven't advanced much since the nightmare home ec project of 1985. I quickly stepped away from the scissors and all design work. I did find a job that I could do though! I settled into stitching the patter around the edge of the quilt and was hooked! I sat there all today & loved it. nice orderly stitches, one after the other, over and over, it was great!!!!!!!!

Bus Stop Abuse

The other morning, the kids actually all got ready quickly and were outside well before the bus came. They had time to play & have a snowball fight with Murray. We're not sure what struck but we liked it! A lot of days we're chasing them out the door, hollering GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!

I think Murray may have gotten a little too competitive, poor Lovey had to get a shield to defend herself from the onslaught!!! :)))

and these odd characters have taken up residence in our driveway recently. The girls were out playing one day last week and whipped off an army of snowmen. They freak me out ever time I pull in the driveway at night. They just come out of nowhere! Aack! who are all these people and what do they want!?!? oh. it's the snowmen. whew.

Bake Much????

On Wednesday afternoon, Honey & Sweetie went to play at a friend's house while Lovey & I went to her violin lesson. On the way home, I thought it would be nice if just the two of us did something together while her sisters were gone. I wasn't sure if she'd go for it, since she knew they were at Tulip's house & she'd be able to join them if she wanted to. I asked her if she wanted to bake some cupcakes with me & she was all for it!

When we got home she ran in & washed her hands & went to pick out an apron. When she noticed that Murray & I have matching aprons, she decided we should both wear those, so we did! :)))

She had a great time getting to measure everything and then at the end we ran out of time so she didn't get to ice them all and ended up helping me get supper ready. I had lots of little jobs for her to do and was surprised at how much was involved in getting dinner on the table. She said "wow! you're really busy! I love helping you!"
