Last But Not Least!

Lovey joins the 2wheeler gang!!!!!!!!! :))) It has been so exciting watching and helping them learn this! It was such a thrill as each one realized they had done even the tiniest distance on their own. The surprise and happiness each time they looked and saw that I wasn't holding on was an absolute pleasure to witness. Their eyes would light up and their jaws would drop in that spectacular moment of realization and they would holler "I DID it!!! I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Until they had that moment, they'd be a little frustrated and not all that into the actual learning and practicing. As soon as they'd managed even a 2 foot distance, their interest would greatly increase. One small taste of 2 wheeling and they were hooked, one by one. Once they saw how possible it was, they were keen to get back out there every day and practice.

Lovey worked hard on mastering this while Murray was a on a recent business trip. We went out for a few days in a row. She not only wanted to figure out the riding, but also the pushing off starting out. Honey has now gotten this & Sweetie can manage it on occasion but Lovey wanted to learn this part first. A great idea if you don't already have 2 other almost 7 year olds who don't pay attention to cars, driveways or other obstacles, bombing way ahead of you as you are at a standstill with the 3rd almost 7 year old, stubborn as all heck girl.

We managed to keep everyone out from under the front wheels of all death machines passing by. Most seemed to recognize the daunting task I was working on and slowed down as they saw us meandering and wobbling down the road. After a few near heart attacks (only my own panic, no near misses or anything), I convinced the other 2 to stop and stand on the side of the road as cars approached and that made the rest of the biking a little less nerve wracking.

Without further ado, here's our Lovey biker!!!!!!! Look out trail riders, we'll be invading soon and exploring everywhere!!!

Singing~!

All 3 of the girls' classes sang together at a local high school. The song is called Six Inch Boots in a 9 Inch Puddle. Cute!

39 & Holding!

Murray had his birthday last week and we partied it up here! Cake, decorations, presents.... the whole works. :))) He got a new bike recently so he considered that to be his present but we found a few odds & ends to give him something to open on the actual day, a book, chocolate apple, hockey shirt etc. Nothing too major but just right for the party! He did request lobster so he got that plus some bacon wrapped scallops and some other seafood hors d'oeuvre thingy and of course birthday cake topped with Taz!

Skip 2-3!

The girls had their dance show on the weekend and it was VERY exciting!!!!!! It was a little on the hectic-stressful side for me but the girls were PUMPED! They had their regular class yesterday and a rehearsal and another dress rehearsal this morning. I finished getting Honey's ladybug wings on yesterday then raced home after today's rehearsal to finish up the costumes, tidy up, have lunch, get the cheater lasagna in the oven to cook for us when we got back, took out the garbage & recycling, whipped off 3 hairdos with ribbons, changed my clothes and raced back to get to the show. I managed all of that but realized I forgot all our cash in my other pants! There were flowers for sale & we wanted to buy the DVD of the performance so we could just watch the show there. Luckily, Mum was there with cash and was able to cover me!

By the time I got the girls to their spot to wait and picked up the stuff at the door to buy and got to my seat, I was spent! Thank goodness the show was long enough that I could sit and catch my breath!

The costumes of the older girls were amazingly sparkly! They also had some incredible footwork! Our girls had a great time and loved being in the show and skip 2-3'd their way to the car, into the house and now don't walk anywhere! They danced their way to bed tonight but were so hyped up from the show, dinner with Grammie & Grandad and who knows what else, that they didn't get to sleep til almost 10 tonight. Tell me that isn't going to be fun tomorrow!!!!!
