Always a Good Time for Tea Time!

Old Nanny is about to depart for greener pastures so we camped out on her doorstep until she let us in for one last visit! :)))

She actually knew we were coming and had quite a set up laid out when we arrived. She got out the tea set she had as a little girl (porcelain tea sets can survive childhood?!??!?!? who knew???). She set a place for each girl with cup & saucer, a little napkin and a side plate. The buffet snack bar included itty bitty sandwiches she'd made out of round pretzels and cheese & pretzels with peanut butter. There were light & scrumptious whipped shortbread cookies with icing and a cherry on top! Old Nanny poured. :)
The girls were quite anxious to get to the stash of toys downstairs so after only a few refills, they were off to pillage & play :)))
She & I had a chance to chat & visit while they were busy. I also had the opportunity to help her with some computer connection problems that she was having and earned my keep for a change.
Thank you Old Nanny, we had a wonderful time with you as usual. Although we'll miss you while you're gone, I'm so happy that you get to have your Florida fun after all. You deserve it! So go and live it up and tell us all about it! Say hi to Big Dick for us :))))

Your Driveway is Too Icy When...

Your kids strap on skates and glide around on it!!!!

But it was fun so no harm, no foul :))) Murray half considered closing one end off and flooding it since it seemed to be working so well but then decided that's a looooooooooooot of hours standing out in the cold with his hose in his hand (*giggle*) and it's easier to load them up and go to a real rink!
These two thought they were HILARIOUS with the sticking out the tongue business. Lucky for me, I just had to click, grumble loudly and wait for them to crack up to get a nice shot.

The Great Outdoors!

We had some pretty cold weather this week but we I decided we needed to get outdoors anyway! It took a bit of coercing convincing but we bundled up and went out.

Even the stuffed animals were given some heavy duty cold weather gear! Don't they look cozy? I couldn't believe how thorough they'd been in getting these guys all wrapped up!

When I got out there, they'd decided to drag some stuff out of the garage. Their old bikes don't maneuver too well on the glare of ice that is our driveway this week. So we had no choice but to....

hit the road! I don't know if they're too heavy for these now or what but they couldn't seem to get them moving well, even on the pavement so there was a lot of pushing involved but nothing too strenuous. :)

Sweetie was all about being helpful on this trip! We'd left one bike behind so were down to two, she had one and Lovey had one and Honey was walking with me. Then Honey decided she would like to ride afterall and started to get upset. Sweetie hopped right off hers and gave it up! I think I still have roadrash from where my jaw hit the ground! Then when Honey was complaining that Lovey was getting all the pushes from Sweetie (my constant attention and assistance were of no value apparently!), Sweetie tried pushing both of them at the same time. I'm not sure what brought it on but she was intent on keeping the peace and it was great to see!

It was freeeeeeeeeeeezing that afternoon but they had a blast and loved the big ride down to the farm. On the way back we stopped in at Tulip's and got her to come out and play and they did another hour at her house sliding on the snowbanks and climbing the hills around her house.
a rare sighting of teamwork in action! You may want to bookmark this post as such a display may never be seen again :)))
