Sunshine's Gone Away Today, Don't Feel Much Like Dancin'

I heard that old song on the radio the other day (does anyone else know it? besides YOU Dad! Nobody in Murray's family has any recollection of it at all) & it kind of fits the weather around here lately!

We've been at the beach for a few days but haven't had hardly any beach weather to speak of. Today we saw the sun come out & got the kids to get ready and headed down to the water. We got there just in time for a thunder and lightning storm to come crashing in on us. Lovey had just gotten into the water and we had to haul her out, against her will and then it never really got better. It would stop raining for a bit and then pick up steam again. I was hoping it would blow over quickly and we'd be able to go back but it never happened. Maybe tomorrow!

So here are a few brief moments of decent weather and they were coerced into standing together for a picture. Lovely capture eh? Can't say I didn't get a genuine moment with these 3!

We love Grammie's Vacation!!!!!!!!!

Grammie phoned asking if the girls wanted to stay overnight! After much deliberation and a counting of the votes and no arm twisting whatsoever, it was a unanimous YES!!!!!!

They even have RIDES now! It was too rainy to have the waterslide out but this was pretty fun too!

Here's the big send off! and then Murray & I bolted for the hills :)

the girls had a great time doing crafts, playing Barbies and relaxing with some movies

On my "day off" I went to the gym then went home & did a bit of housework, and tried to finish up a new blogheaded that I've been meaning to add for ages now. It's very tricky & I didn't get far. Apparently I am not a template guru :)
After lunch I had a shoot with a friend from playgroup for her newborn. Apparently I am NOT a newborn guru either. I was there for 3½ hours and am not confident that there is anything that I love on that memory card. He wasn't interested in curling up for a snooze so I couldn't pose him in any of the ways I'd had in mind. He was happy cuddled up with mum the best so there are lots of shots of that, but that didn't give much variety. I'll work on them more next week and hopefully come up with something she can use.
Afterwards, I picked Murray up and we went out for supper and had a nice meal and then went to fetch our darlings. They'd had a good time but were ready to come home.
Thank you Grammie & Grandad for a great time!!!!!!!!!!!

Swimming, Swimming, in the Swimming Pool!

The pool is open for the season! Murray & I got it out and the water truck came and filled it up. The kids couldn't stand to wait and were in it about 5 minutes after the hose was turned on!

Lovey was having some stomach problems and didn't stay in long so didn't make it into the pictures.

We estimated they'd last 5 or 10 minutes maybe. The water was approx 10 degrees. We greatly underestimated them. They stayed in for the whole time it took for the first load of water. Then they took a break in the playhouse and then got back in before the truck came back for the 2nd run. The delivery guy was incredulous. "They haven't been in there the whole time I was gone have they??" Even considering their little break it's still pretty impressive. Honey's lips were a dull blue/purple when she finally conceded that it might be chilly! They didn't get out until we made them because it was time to go to Grammie & Grandad's for supper.

They were excited to finally get their new bathing suits on and try them out. They swim MUCH better in these ones :)

Surprise Visitor!

Murray was out mowing the jungle that is our lawn the other night when he came running inside calling for the girls to come quickly.

He opened up his hands to show them what he'd found in the grass.

They were completely intrigued, almost to the point of amphibian homicide.

We finally took the little guy out of their enamourous/torturous hands and Murray put it back where he found it. Made for an exciting evening though!
