The birthday goes on...

Ok I think this was our last birthday celebration! Uncle Dale came over today with goodies for the girls & they were most pleased with his selections! My Little Ponies, just like Cece & Jules!!!!!! Lovey cracked me up as she started rifling through her gift bag. She likes to make short work of it & get right to the good stuff. All non essentials go by the wayside, so out went the tissue paper all in one fell swoop, next went flying some new pj's that were in the way of the toy she was seeking in the bottom. It sooooooo reminded me of Dale & I as kids, ripping through gifts Christmas morning, rip rip rip, clothes? chuck it, NEXT! LOL

Although the nightie didn't catch her attention right away, she did want to wear it to bed but got a little something on it & it had to go in the wash.

Dale enjoyed his supper and was here for a few hours before heading home. The girls haven't let their ponies out of sight yet! I think they all took them to bed & put the little hairbrush in their night stands for safe keeping.

While he was here, Murray showed Dale his work in progress, "Road Hockey". They were able to have a little match too.

Spa day with Grammie!

Yay! Friday again! I got a few errands done including groceries while Mum was here today and didn't mind getting rained on while I was out. Small price to pay for my freedom I say!

The girls have been fascinated with Mum's toenail polish and last week asked her if she'd paint theirs. They all decided what colours they wanted and were verrrrrrrrry excited when she arrived & immediately asked if she'd brought them some polish! She'd left it in the car & told them she didn't have it and Honey jumped in "You FORGOT Grammie?" and was quite relieved to know it was just outside.

I left them to their spa services & took off for my appointment at the bank. A few hours later I came home to find some well manicured little girls! Honey chose brown polish like Grammie's and I think Sweetie changed her previous selection of pink to brown also, Lovey wanted red though. Mum said they talked about it all through lunch and were anxious to get started. They sat very still and she used a special topcoat that speeds the drying process. She had finished Honey's and started to blow on them a bit when Honey got alarmed "You're going to BLOW IT OFF?!?!?!" and once when she moved a bit, Mum said "0h Honey, stay still..." and Honey said "I'm not WIGGLING!" Sweetie, who is constantly on the move. managed to get her fingers and toes done. I was most impressed! They were apparently quite fascinated in the whole process and just sat with their hands on the table as each had their turn. Lovey only wanted her feet done but she's now the one not feeling well & was quite warm & had a 2 hr nap this afternoon.

Here Yesterday, Gone Today!

Well all that fabulous sunshine didn't stick around! I shouldn't have said anything : )))) Since we had playgroup this morning, the day wasn't hard to fill anyway so the sun wasn't a big deal & we still got outside for awhile but it was too windy to go swimming.

The sandbox gang was back in action though & tried out some of their new sand molds. Lovey earned herself a time out for destroying the "castle" we were making. She can be such a little instigator! She totally knew that was going to make everyone mad, I could see the calculating look in her eye. I just wasn't fast enough to catch her before she trashed the place. I do have to say that she's an excellent time out-er though! I told her she had to get out of the sandbox for 3 minutes for not being nice and she just trotted off & waited by the backdoor, didn't object, didn't say a word. Then as soon as I told her the time was up, she came racing back over, big grin, happy as a clam. She told her sisters she was sorry but they weren't having any of it. "NO sorry a ME!" What's a mom to do????? ; )))))

Looks like Honey's coming down with something now, she was super whiny all day & burst into tears over every little thing. I thought she was just overtired from all the excitement this week. She fell asleep watching a movie and woke up very very hot, temperature of 101.9 so we're watching that! She didn't eat much supper and wanted to go to bed at 6pm. I gave her some medicine and once that kicked in she wasn't sleep anymore. They went to bed around their regular time and all feel asleep much more quickly than usual so who knows what's brewing????

So much sun!

I am soooo enjoying the beautiful weather we're having! The girls are getting loads of playtime outside in the fresh air so we're enjoying it while it lasts.

They're still enjoying their birthday high & talking about everyone that was around and having so much fun with their new things! And it doesn't quite seem to be over yet! Old Nanny came to see them today & also brought gifts AND an icecream treat for me! Woohoo! Rolo Icecream bar! mmmmmmm Then, after supper my Aunt Caroline and a couple of my cousins, came by with gifts too. Her daughter had saved her easy bake oven & was waiting for the girls to be 3 so they could have it (says 3+ on the box so she wasn't letting them have it til they met this requirement!). Although, did you know they're not called Easy Bakes anymore? It's Micro Lite or something like that. Young whippersnappers always got to be changin' stuff!

On Friday I got a reallllllllly great book from the library full of info on how to use Photoshop Elements (editing digital photos). I knew there was a lot of stuff the program could do & this is the book that tells you! I'm loving all the new stuff I'm learning to do, whiten people's teeth, give the picture a soft focus, remove objects from photos, add flash to photos that needed some, make eyes shine & sparkle & there's more I haven't tried yet. For example, I was able to remove the stupid shadow on her face so there's some really neat stuff that will come in handy!

Party ON!!!

The birthday excitement continues! They are officially 3 as of 5:24pm, 5:25pm & 5:26pm but don't seem to have left the terrible two's behind entirely yet!

Another great day for weather and enjoyment. They were thrilled to be having a birthday and talked about it a fair amount today. I phoned the radio station and asked to have them listed in the birthdays & the looks on their faces when they heard their names on the air was pretty funny!

Most of the day was fairly quiet and relaxing, the girls were outside a fair amount doing the usual, sandox, pool & swingset circuit. Mum took the afternoon off and she & Dad came down after lunch to see the kids. We love company!! Every day, they ask me, "who's gonna visit today Mumma?" and if I say "nobody" they get a confused a look and ask "why nobody's going to come over today???" Social butterflies already... wonder where they get that?? ; ))))

When Mum was here on Friday, she'd told them she'd see them again on their birthday and that she'd have presents and they wanted to know if they would be wrapped? in PAPER???? So she said they would be. They wanted to know if she had the paper yet and when they found out it was in the car, they made her bring it in so they could check it out & select which pattern they each wanted. Who knew paper could be so important? I sortof thought it was the gift that really mattered, I didn't think they'd care so much about paper wrapping vs. gift bag & tissue paper!

They got many nice gifts and seemed pretty enthused about everything and will get lots and lots of enjoyment out of it all for a long time! Thanks everyone for loving and spoiling our girls and treating them like princesses!
I'd like to put up more pictures but I'm worn out from all this partying!!!!!!

The Never Ending Birthday : )))

Wow talk about partying!! It's Sunday night and we've had birthday cake and presents two days in a row & we're not done yet! The actual birthday isn't til tomorrow and we've got one more party to go.

Murray's parents arrived Friday night just in time for cheeseburgers, I'd gotten back late from my grocery run so everything was a little off schedule but not too bad. The kids had a later bedtime than usual but no problems. I stayed up waaaaaaaaaay too late but luckily got to sleep in Saturday morning (woohoo!). It was a good thing though because I spent the rest of the day making cakes & getting food ready. Murray actually took over the nacho preparation while I put on the finishing touches.

Throughout the day the girls got presents from different people. Their new bikes were presented after lunch and weren't as big a thrill as we'd expected. These are some fancy schmancy bikes too! They have Ariel, a clamshell compartment for storage, sparkly streamers and beads on the handlebars... but only got a ho hum reaction. Want to know what really got them revved up? Some fish that swim in the pool when you pull their string. Nancy said they cost all of $2!

The other big hit was TJ the story telling bear. He comes with books and cartridges that you pop in and Auntie KK & Uncle Paul got them each another book/cartridge that came with an accessory for the bear to use while telling each story. Sweetie got a camera and was in 7th heaven, Honey got a flashlight that she loves & even takes to bed with her & Lovey got a walkie talkie that she's pretty sure is a flashlight as well!

Supper was ready around our regular time & we were all quite hungry so we tucked in to those and then dug into the cake. The girls were quite pleased with their individual cakes & the rest of us were pleased to eat the large, untouched by sticky slimy toddler hands, cake!

Uncle Andrew & Aunt Mandy made it for supper also so there were still more presents after we ate. They brought a play mat that looks like a map & at least 10 dinky cars to go with it. The girls loved driving the cars all over the "city"!

Story Time.....Not!

Did I mention we went to the library this week? I decided we'd try out "Story Time". They like books & being read to, should be good right? Something different to try out, a new experience for them blah blah blah. So off we go only to get there & find out they're not having it in June. (might be a little somthin to add to their WEBSITE then!) Instead we looked around at the books and they still had a good time, sitting at the kidsized tables and "reading" the books lying around. The only problem was that they wanted to help themselves to random selections off the shelves & I had to try and keep up with all 3 of them & put books back where they belonged and prevent the other 2 from grabbing more as I reshelved as quickly as I could. We checked out a few to bring home & they were pretty happy about the whole outing.
