One night at bedtime I was saying prayers with Sweetie and she likes to say a line and have you repeat what she just said. Here's how it went:
Sweetie: Dear God,
Me: Dear God,
S: thank you for the day
Me: thank you for this day
S.... pause
S whispering: um, you made a mistake there.
S: thank you for the day
Me:(clearing my throat trying not to giggle) thank you for the day.
S... expectant pause
S whispering: Tell God you're SORRY!
Me (shaking from effort not to burst into laughter): umm, God? Sorry about my mistake there.
S: and thank you for etc etc etc
So if you're saying prayers with Sweetie, do NOT deviate from the plan to correct anything!! She'll report you right to the big guy!!!
