Deja Vu

Guess what? There's another Kelly in town. Yes, I know, not that unusual and hardly surprising. But guess how I first heard about her. She was expecting triplets. Guess what she had? Three girls. Yep, it's true. A total copycat! :))) The babies have all been born now and are home. I chatted with Kelly periodically through her pregnancy and kept updated on her progress on FB.

Knowing what I know now about photography and how quickly those babies grow, I offered to do a free shoot for them. When our babies were that small, we were still reeling from the changes and I couldn't fathom how we were going to afford to live, never mind shelling out for custom photography. I of course now regret this and can never go back to recapture them as I'd like to. Kelly was all for having a shoot so I went over this week.

The babies have been home for just over a week and things are running smoothly at their place and they have an older daughter to look after too! The babies are still sleeping a lot so they're off to a good start.

I arrived around 8:30 and got my gear in place and started doing test shots etc. Four hours later I had to run out the door in order to catch my own girls getting off the bus. I couldn't believe how fast it went! Her girls were all so good! (hey what's up with that???) The oldest was a bit shy at first but warmed up after awhile. The only tricky part was when the triplets didn't want to fall back asleep after their feeding. We eventually wore them out and they crashed! Unfortunately this was at the 3½ hour mark and I was getting a bit tired and pressed for time. I didn't get all the great poses I've seen on other photographers' sites but am pretty happy with several & so far they're getting good feedback on her FB page!

Here are a few!

Boy in da House!

Well today was the much anticipated arrival of Mr. N! All week long I've been asked repeatedly, "HOW many more DAYS til SATURDAY???!?!??!?" and finally the day came. They were so excited to have their friend from school over and they always love company so they were totally geared and fired up by the time he got here. Just before he arrived, Lovey came and found me, with a tube of lipstick in her hand. "Mumma, can you help me put this on????" It was a big day indeed if you need lipstick! Of course as soon as his dad brought him in, they all disappeared down the hall and started peeking shyly around the banister and giggling. They're cool like that.

Mr N took their silliness in stride and went up to check out what they were doing. I suggested they show him around so he'd know where things were. He quickly told me "Well, I already know this is the kitchen!" LOL Once the girls had something to do, they were fine and started taking him around and the chatter started flying. They went downstairs and got out the Lego. Then they put that away and got out the beads and made jewelry for awhile. Then Lovey gave him a demo of her violin playing and he was really interested in that and tried it out himself. He's already taken piano lessons but his teacher moved away and he's been wanting to try violin for awhile. I suggested they pack up the beads and get out their Hot Wheels instead and they thought that was a great idea! Off they raced to drag that stuff out and set it up.

They played so well with their guest and cleaned up every time they moved from activity to activity. I was in shock, this never happens!

Honey & Sweetie decided to have a dance party in the living room with one of my old cassettes from Mexico days but Lovey & Mr. N wanted to do puzzles so they took that to the kitchen and worked in there while the dance party was on. Honey & Sweetie were quite sure the other two were making a terrible mistake and came into the kitchen often to urge them to change their minds. It did look like a lot of fun so I went to the dance party for awhile and we busted a few moves! Murray even joined in for awhile and THAT got Lovey in there in a hurry! Mr. N followed along and worked the light show and was a good sport about it :) Lovey didn't stay long, she wanted to get back to the puzzles. Then they packed that up and got out some play dough. Unfortunately Mr. N's pick up arrived shortly after that and he didn't get to play with it much.

All She Wants To Do Is Dance, Dance!

Ahhh Saturday dance class continues to be a big hit! This morning was a bit rushed as everyone had to get out the door to drive me to the gym for my 9:30 class, then come back to pick me up afterwards and get to their class for 11am. We made it and Murray came along so I'd know where to take them and then he & Garmin ran home. :))) Gotta log those miles ya know!

hard to believe that chick on the far right fought tooth and nail against dance class for months huh?

Today the dance show had some birdlike fluttering of wings as they danced across the room and finished here in a pliƩ.
Sweetie wanted a picture with her new dance slippers. She'd envied her sisters' pink slippers for quite some time and wanted us to buy her some but we declined since she wasn't taking the class at the time. The first thing she asked after signing up for this term was to go shopping for her slippers! Then we had a crazy week and didn't get a chance to do it til last night after supper. She & I went by ourselves to pick them out. The pink ones didn't suit her so she chose some nice black leather ones with little bows and was happy as a clam. We also ran into our sweet Maggie and got a chance to visit with her for a few minutes!!!

Boys Calling!

I answered the phone on Saturday and no one spoke. I thought it was a telemarketer and was about to hang up when

a little boy voice said "is is Honey & Lovey's mom?"
Me: (trying to keep from laughing) yes it is! Who's this?
Boy: It's N.
Me : Hi N! What are you up to today? (with 2 girls behind me squealing and giggling "it's N!!!!!!"
Boy: oh I just wanted them to play today
Me: well that would be fun but it's almost supper time, can I talk to your mom or dad? maybe we can make a plan another time.

Holy cow! They're six and the boys are calling for dates already! It was too cute! I couldn't get over how this little boy dialed us up and wasn't the least bit hesitant about talking to me. His mom got on the phone and I detected a Spanish accent so asked her if she spoke Spanish and she did so we flipped over and I got to have a good long conversation and get some good practice in! They live not too far from here so we're going to try to get the kids together next weekend. I asked if she'd found our number in the book but it turned out that he'd asked for it at school and Honey wrote it down for him. Isn't this a bit young for her to be handing out her phone number to BOYS!?!??!?!? LOL This is funny now but I bet I won't be nearly as amused when teenage boys are on the line!

In other news, our boy found himself a skunk. in the backyard. not sure how this happened but I don't like it one bit! I'm hoping he just scared one that was nearby on the other side of the fence because the thought of one rumbling around back there where one of us could encounter it is unbearable. Murphy hasn't found it again so I'm optimistic that it has left!
