Girl Talk

I was folding laundry in my bedroom when I overheard two hushed little voices in the bathroom. As soon as I knew they were whispering, I knew they were up to something and I had to tune in!

Girl 1: do you ever pee in the pool?
Girl 2: wellllll.... (she starts to answer then pauses as she considers the implications of doing so) are you going to tell Mummy?????
Girl 1: NO! I won't!
Girl 2: are you sure you're not going to tell her?
Girl 1: Yes! I promise I won't tell her!
Girl 2: ok, if you're really not going to tell, I'll tell you.
Girl 1: I really really promise. I'll never tell.
Girl 2: alright. well, I might have peed a little bit once but then I got out. But it was last year and that water is gone now and we have new water so it doesn't matter.
Girl 1: yeah, I might have peed once too but it was when I was a baby and Mummy knows about that.

Big time confessions behind closed doors! LOL and just in case you're wondering, I always make them go to the bathroom before we go out to the pool! and they often get out to make a run inside so for the most part you're safe to swim in our 'ool cuz there shouldn't be any p in it :)))

Determination

how's this for serious dedication? Look at her go! I've mentioned their monkey bar fascination before and it hasn't abated. She makes a beeline for these every week and works and works at it til she gets herself all the way across. Her arms get tired and she has to take breaks! She gets blisters on her palms from gripping the metal and still she goes back for more!

Ball Night

TBall is still going well, Honey & Lovey are keen on going each time although it's still always a rush to get out the door on time, they actually like being there. Sweetie is still thrilled to have no involvement with it whatsoever!
Murray's sporting a lovely tan after his interesting weekend. He was on Andrew's team in some sort of crazy man's triathlon that lasted more hours than anyone should ever have to go without sleep and shelter! Luckily they survived and came home with nothing worse than a bit of eczema (Andrew) and sunburn (Murray) and were pleased with their finish standings!

Sweetie brought along her DS to occupy her at Tball. Between that and the playground, she got her hour in with minimal bouts of "I'm Bored-itis" :)))

The girls did a little catching practice with Daddy before the coach called them all in.
Not TBall related but I'm throwing it in this post anyway. Sweetie just has to be different. If we're having fresh mangoes for dessert, she wants a tomato. We were having cookies and cinnamon buns and she asks for a dish of peanut butter. The kid marches to the beat of her own drummer. How's that going to play out in the teen years do you figure???????

and here she is with her tomato plant from the Easter Bunny. Two on the way and another little one starting. Very exciting times!

Candy Anyone?

We had someone drop in unexpectedly today! Isn't she beautiful? Not that I'm partial to labs or anything eh? ;))) She looks a lot like the neighbours dog so when she trotted up to our gate, I assumed it was her. Not wanting her to be running loose in the street, I decided to bring her into the backyard and keep her safe. Aren't I a good neighbour???

I waited a bit to see if I could hear them calling for the dog but no one did. I hollered over to see if they were out in their yard. nope. I phoned over to see if the dog was missing but to my surprise she tells me her dog is sitting at her feet!!! Yikes! what mangy mutt have I brought into my yard??? No tags, no collar and she's been swimming in the pond and is super stinky.

By this time the girls love her and want to know if she can stay overnight if we don't find her owners. I said we'd probably bring her into the house if we can't find anyone. So they decide to name her "Candy". Then they all set about building her a dog house since I won't let her inside.

Sweetie ran inside to her handy dandy art shop and whipped up a "LOST DOG" poster with a picture of Candy on it to help identify the pet. I'm sure she was going to add some contact information to her poster and just didn't have a chance before we took the picture ;)

Boo enjoyed her swim in the pool today! Another lovely lounging-in-the-water day and the pool's up to 27°! If it gets any warmer in there it's not even going to be refreshing!

Much to the girls' dismay, Murray took Candy for a walk down the street and found her owners and they did keep her. Those 3 hours are about as long as I wanted to have a 2nd dog though so I was ok with the return :)))

A rare moment of stillness!

Sweetie actually sat still for me & did not stick her tongue out and I am so in love with this shot!!! Just had to share one more before bed :)

you can take the scientist out of her lab.....

Mr. B looking good, even with some mud spatter :)))

Honey has been toting around a World Book Encyclopedia special edition volume all about volcanoes for I don't even know how long now. She sometimes picks it as her bedtime story.
They've all been wanting to make a volcano and so they got the book packed to bring to the most recent cottage visit. They thought it would be fun to do with Nanny. I think Nanny's heart just about burst out of her lab coat in pride and excitement when they told her ;)))

We fetched some clay from the beach so they could mold the right shape (my involvement was limited to carrying the bucket up)
Nanny mixed up a special request pink lava for the volcanic eruption and the crowd was more than pleased when the volcano blew!
Nanny you get a 10/10 on this assignment!
