We drag our feet every year. Usually it's freezing outside by the time Murray convinces me to drain & clean the pool. I hate that job!!! By the end of the summer, I've had enough of the pool maintenance and try to ignore this one last task. It never works! However, this year we got lucky with some warm temperatures to clean in. I told the kids they should help scrub it out since they use it the most. They were unfazed by this logic. Then Lovey decided she wanted to help. Yes! Once Lovey was on board, Honey wanted in too. Woohoo! Sweetie came over and asked if she HAD to help and was ready to fight me to the death or deafness, whichever resulted from the screaming fit she was brewing up. Not wanting to tangle with her, I told her she didn't have to. I knew I'd be more likely to get help out of her if she thought it was her own idea. I told her she had to come outside with us while we worked since it was a nice day. She was ok with that & got changed out of her dress.
Once we got out there, Murray went to work with the mop. Honey & Lovey snagged some rags and got right down to it. Then I started pouring in warm water to slosh around. Soon there was much slipping, sliding, falling, more sliding.... Then, lo and behold, Sweetie was standing next to them and asking if she could help out now. Dang I'm good :)))
The last pool party of the season on one of the nicest days of the year, too bad it happened at the end of September when the pool was empty! Everyone had as much fun as we do when the pool is full though!
