Sunny Day!

Here we have one of their unique sisterly rituals. They all stand together in this sortof circle, then put one mittened hand each into the centre and say "sisterrrrrrrrrrrrs!!" and then they're ready to go.

We had a nice day earlier this week and I took full advantage & out we went. It feels like we rarely see the sun these days and almost never feel any warmth from it!

Murphy was looking pretty handsome!

Honey called for Lovey to come play her game and her response was:
Sure! but I need Mummy to do some of my pictures first!

I love it when they actually WANT to pose for pictures but it didn't last very long

Me:Sweetie! Be careful on the ice, you might fall down!
Her: I'm just sliding!!!!!!!!!

yep. ok then. Don't listen to meeeeeeeeee.

Toddler Chat....Again.

Sweetie, eyes still shut in a dead sleep as I'm taking her to pee around midnight: "Mumma?"

Me: yes?

Sweetie, mumbling: I love you. (how cute is THAT??????????)

The girls have been asking about jail lately (something about Murray's side of the family I guess...) and wanting to know who goes to jail, how you get to jail, how long you stay in jail, what you do in jail, could Murray or I end up in jail etc. Then the other morning they were discussing it amongst themselves and were saying "Oh I hope Mummy & Daddy don't go to jail!" "Yeah, that would be awful, I don't want them to go either!!!!" and Lovey pipes up with "yeah, because I can't reach the cereal!!!" (always good to know where you stand!)

The girls now have to clear their dishes from the table after meals and I ask them to scrape their plates in the garbage. Honey headed straight to the garbage can tonight and I noticed the bag had been taken out & was sitting next to the fridge.

Me: Honey, noooooooo! the bag's not in there, go scrape it over there
Honey (frozen in place by the garbage can, startled by this change of plans): ohhhhhhhh! but!!!! ohhhhhhhh! I don't know!!!..... ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Me: it's ok.....RICK.

Chordettes & cool stuff like that!

Mumma got a laptop for Christmas so I was playing with that on Sunday. For fun I started looking up some of my favourite old songs on YouTube. When I say old, I don't mean "junior high dance" old. Nope, not the eighties. Not even the seventies. Waaaaaaaaaay back to the 50's & some 60's. I loooooooooove these tunes!!!!!! One of my first "made it myself" mixed tapes was a collection of Beach Boys on the A side and then a variety of singers on the B side.

The girls heard the music & came to check it out and they really enjoyed the Chordettes "Lollipop" and "Leader of the Pack" . Sweetie sat with me the longest & had several requests for repeats! Lovey heard Yakkity Yak and started dancing up a storm.

Earlier in the weekend, Sweetie wanted to make a present for Grammie & intricately folded up a a small sheet of paper, painted it pink & put a sticker on the front of it. Once it was finished she searched around for a box that it would fit in & insisted on this one. She made a tag for it and put a fancy bow on top. Grammie was quite surprised at this large gift and was even more surprised at the tiny treasure inside!
