Another Dog :)))

As you might expect, it's been rather hard since Murphy left us and we have really missed having a dog. Sooooo we couldn't stand it any longer and got another one! It might seem a little soon but it has felt like forever to us!

Everyone's enjoying him so far and it's so nice having a dog in the house again. We call him Max. because that's what my mother named him when she got him ;P We're just dog sitting for the weekend while they're away.

Wacky Hair Day

Ok, I'll get to the hair in a minute! First I want to show off how I've personalized my iPad cover! This unique design can be added to just about any surface at no charge! On a side note, check the burners before you set any flammables down!!! Ugh!

Scraps & Pepper went on a date today and enjoyed some fine dining! I believe hot dog chunks and bread crumbs were the special of the day!

Ok, so here's the hair! The theme for youthgroup tonight was "wacky hair". I had 2 out of 3 as willing participants. Neither of them wanted to commit to my ideas until they'd seen them though so things were pretty dicey near departure time! Lovey thoroughly enjoyed hers and would probably wear it to school like that tomorrow if I let her! Sweetie was unsure about the sweetheart ponytails when I described them but once I showed her, she was sold! She then glammed them up with a bunch of bows but you can still see the heart shape a bit. Honey declined any special styling and briefly considered wearing one of their clown wigs but apparently changed her mind. Nothing outrageous for her!

Love & Drama

It seems to be one extreme or the other around here, especially if anyone's overtired. Honey has seemed very volatile lately and outbursts and tears are frequent and unexpected! She really seems to need more sleep than the other 2 and I can't quite figure out how to get her settled and asleep before her sisters. Her most common complaint about everything else around here lately is "NOT FAIR!" so I'm pretty sure an earlier bedtime than her same age sisters is only going to start up her chorus! I let her sleep in an extra 15 minutes every day but she still cries when I go to get her.

Today after school, I spent some cuddle time with her, listening to her stories of what happened and different things. Shortly after that, everything went downhill. Big screaming matches in the bathroom as she tried to join in on whatever scenario Lovey & Sweetie were concocting. They'd already started planning it all out when Honey arrived on the scene and her requests for changes were not well received. I let them scream it out for awhile, hoping it would resolve but no such luck. Lovey was getting more and more agitated and louder and louder until Honey was crying. I called Lovey out and we talked about making changes to include Honey. It turned out Honey was in the "my way or the highway" camp and well that just doesn't fly! When I asked her to be more flexible and play along with them if she wanted to join the game, she was too far gone to consider any suggestions. So she went down to her room for a good & loud cry. Eventually she pulled it together and went downstairs to watch tv.

While she was down there, Lovey & Sweetie decided to try to cheer her up and make her feel included. They created some sort of scavenger hunt, gave her treats and lip gloss from their own collections, created signs & clues to lead her through to find the goodies and got everything ready!

It worked! She was all smiles as they led her through the steps. Several times as they started a new section, I heard her say "now DON'T tell me this is the last one!" Greedy little thing!

Murray News!

Murray doesn't get as much press around here as he probably should but well, he eats, works, jogs and plays hockey and generally doesn't create a lot of headlines! He's our rock and that's the way we like it :)))

However, this is a big year for Rocket Man! He's turning 40 next month. Now I"m not sure but he may just have gone and had his mid life crisis this weekend! He went on quite a wild spree that was very uncharacteristic of him. If a corvette shows up next week, I'll know for sure but for now I'm mildly suspicious!

He not only replaced his running shoes from November 2010 that still had one out of 4 sides NOT blown out but he also replaced his mostly functional 5 year old laptop and a Samsung tablet! In ONE day. Luckily his parents gave him bday money to buy new shoes (thank you!!!) and his tax refund is going to cover his computer. That leaves the girls and I on the hook to give him the tablet as his birthday present. Since he's been a very good boy this year, we agreed that would be ok since it's such a milestone and all.

Out with the old:

and in with the new!!!

Back to our Roots

I went to visit my aunt at the hospital today and brought along a gift for the NICU from the multiples club. Since we were all there, the nurses wanted the girls to come in to visit and take their picture to show how they've grown since they lived there. One of the nurses working today was Sue and she was one of our nurses back then & her daughter Laura (you might remember her as Wawa from when the girls couldn't pronounce her name) showed up on our doorstep as soon as she was old enough to babysit. We've been able to keep in touch since we "graduated".

It was funny to see them in the environment they started out in 7½ years after the fact! They were intrigued that they used to fit inside one of the isolettes. Then I showed them the "Cadillac" isolette that they all shared together and their jaws dropped! They couldn't believe that!
