More Cottage Pics

More cottage pictures. Here's an out take of us getting ready and lined up for the big picture, much coordination required.

I've been needing a grandparents shot for the girls' baby books for a long time now, finally I just decided to park 'em & shoot 'em. There are perks to being behind the camera! ;))))

Andrew & Mandy were the first to arrive to the family session so I lined them up and got some shots while everyone else headed over.

Ahhh the clay! the girls play in this stuff every day, dig it up out of the sand to mold it, shape it and apparently, wear it!

Stacey & Stacy!

Back in highschool I had two very close friends and we all lived within a few blocks of each other. This made sleepovers, drop ins and sharing clothes very easy! We were always at each others' places doing all sorts of weird but very important teenager stuff which amused us to no end!

Once in the middle of a raging snowstorm (no school, yay!), Stacey brought over her very new and very cool ghetto blaster. It wasn't just any ol' sound machine. It was PINK. It came with matching pink cassette tapes and I believe it was even a dual cassette deck, very latest & greatest feature. She was THAT cool! Luckily she was our friend and we had a blast with that thing. We recorded ourselves broadcasting on our own radio station "SKS Radio" and I remember rolling around laughing hysterically after somebody did the weather and said "it's -40°C and....... we're freezing our BUNS OFF!!!!!!!!!!!". This was very racy talk to be heard on a radio station back then and it set us off into an incurable fit of giggles. It might not seem funny to you but it was probably 2am and there may have been a load of chocolate or some other hyperactive ingredient involved. :)

Stacey moved to another province when we were in university, I now live a couple hours away but Stacy still lives near our original stomping grounds. We don't see each other very often but when we do, everything falls back into place and we just pick up and run with it.

Stacey was home on vacation and we had a chance to get together at her place and eat her mom's food, just like the good ol' days! Stacey is planning her wedding for next summer/fall and Stacy are looking forward to being there :))) Road trip anyone?????

Good to see old friends and I had a great visit & look forward to partying it up at the wedding next year!

Race Mates!

Two out of three girls ran in a race recently. Can you guess which girl was the holdout??? Oh yeah, I bet you can! Lovey & Honey enjoy running this kids' race and were all psyched up. At one point Sweetie was going to do it but as the date got closer she thought better of it and cheered from the sidelines instead. Mr Bojangles was all for it though and trotted right along behind his cousins. Honey placed third and was so amazed with her achievement that she was overheard saying "I can't BELIEVE I came in THIRD!" at least 100 times, each time with the same breathless wonder. She's pretty speedy when she wants to be. I think she should do some training runs with Murray to get ready for next year. This will be the last year she can do the mini race. Next year she'll be too old and will only have the 1k as an option. She can probably run almost that now but I wouldn't want to throw her in there unprepared so we'll see.

Lovey came in 5th and was content with that but didn't feel the need to remind us about it all day long ;) Mr. Bojangles came in shortly after she did and really liked his medal!

Murray finished in the top 10 and was pretty much on track for the time he expected. I believe he placed in his age group too but didn't feel like sticking around the 3 hours for the meal and awards.

Family Weekend at the Cottage

Everyone was at the cottage this weekend to celebrate my FIL's birthday. He thought this was a pretty good gift in itself and the bonus was that we got to enjoy it too (don't worry, he got real presents and cake too! we're all good kids!)

The cousins played together so well that they had to be separated at night. By 10:30 Sweetie & Bojangles were still giggling and acting up so Nancy had to move one of them to another room! I would have done it but I was busy at the movies! Yep, again! Gotta love the service at this cottage! :)))

Rick here's another present, the family photo you wanted!
