Thursday

No major happenings yesterday, we stayed home, I cleaned bathroom in between the usual drama! Late in the afternoon, I dragged them outside for a walk aka photo shoot and they were sooooo excited to find daisies!

Livin' La Vida Lake-a!

On Tuesday we went to a friend's camp out at the lake. The forecast promised 25ยบ and sunshine but it turned to dark clouds & drizzle. We had a great time visiting and the girls watched "Enchanted", coloured pictures, got their feet wet & ate lots of goodies. Even a bad weather day at the camp is better than being home!
Aunt Cathy was visiting too & took the girls to get their feet wet. They couldn't believe we were going to be that close to water & not go swimming. They insisted on testing it out. Their desire to swim dwindled right after this encounter!

By the Power of GraySkull!!!!!!

Ahhhh the good ol' HeMan cartoons! The girls got some rings out of the coo-nyah-dah at the birhday party. They were each able to find "their" colour and even posed their rings for a picture for me. Honey insisted that I just get her ring and NOT her though. LOL

At the Kitty Kat Bakery!

We did some baking this week& the girls were excellent helpers! They were very excited to make the oh so delicious smartie cookies (maybe I was a little too!). They each measured out different ingredients & I mixed the batter & spooned it onto the trays.

I gave them each a little dish of smarties and they counted out 5 at a time & put them on a cookie. They were very careful and counted them out and had them arranged on those cookies, just so!
didn't they do fantastic job??? When they were done, Honey picked up my camera and took pictures of them! (here's one of her shots, not bad!)There's always a bit of dough left that isn't really enough for more than a few cookies so we usually just make one big one for Murray to eat. He loves BIG cookies!

After supper, the girls wanted to play "toystore" and pretended they were dolls on a shelf. These dolls didn't even need batteries to walk & talk and were the most amazing dolls Daddy had ever seen.

Here he is at the store, making his selection in the doll section.
But, like any Daddy, he couldn't pick just one so he bought all three and brought them home to show me. : )))

Sunday Fun Day!

Grammie surprised the girls with their very own golf clubs. Very exciting stuff & they hit the "links" right after supper and were swinging wildly. LOL Honey has a one armed technique and Lovey uses the Happy Gilmore approach. Sweetie took a few swings and couldn't hit the ball the way she wanted so threw down her club and went back in the house. Classsssssy golfer!
Grammie came out to give thema few pointers in case Grandad forgot something :)

Pools & Parties

We had a birthday party to go to on Saturday. It could have been called twin fest! Six sets of multiples! Singletons were the oddballs at this event. It was the warmest day of the week & we were all ready to jump in the pool when we got home! I got out some pool toys I'd picked up at the end of season 50% off sale (woohoo!) and the kids loooooooooved them!
The hoops sink to the bottom but have floaties on the sides so the hoops stay upright & they dive under and swim through them. Quite the novelty & they got good at it very quickly!
they even doubled up & went through at the same time, are they little fishes or what?????

focus, focus, focus!

We Go Out Walkinnnnnn', After Supperrrrrr....

Friday's usually a bit disorganized as I try to do some housework and get my grocery list made up and although it's probably hard to believe, I actually attempt to have my crap together so I can leave when my mother gets there. More often than not though, I hear the car in the driveway and am still in my scuzzy "around the house" clothes, unshowered and list partially made. So the day flies by and I rarely get the kids outside for any playtime or a walk or anything. Since I hadn't had them outdoors at all, I suggested a walk to the farm after supper and off we went, after a few tantrums, arguments and probably at least one crying jag.
You can see what a rotten time they're having with us!
Honey gave me her flowers to put in my hair which amused Murray so he wanted a picture of that. You can't really tell here though whether Lovey's just holding a bunch in her hand behind my back or whether they're actually anchored in my ponytail. You be the judge!
And around this point, Murray got suspicious and exlaimed "THIS isn't walk at all, it's just another photoshoot!" *gasp* (is he new here?!?!?)

and then Sweetie had some complaint about something or other and put on this face which we're seeing more and more of lately.
This particular night I was working on "finding the light". It's hard to take pictures in direct sun but you don't want to be completely in the shade either. So the trick is to find what they call "open shade" an area that doesn't glare right in their eyes but still shines in enough so they're not dark. So the photo above was taken with my back to the house, facing toward the street. Obviously didn't find the light. Try again. I went on the other side, stood on the lawn & shot towards the house. Better! Goofy faces but nicer light for sure! I really need to learn to find the light & position myself for better pictures. Although moving subjects with minds of their own often make this hard to do! and below I have mixed shadow & light, fairly impossible to meter for and should be avoided entirely! oh well!

stupid shadow casting hats! how dare they wear those on a photoshoot, errr, I mean, WALK! ;))
