Another Lake Day

Teena & I decided to take our show on the road one more time to visit Leanne & her family at the lake. She's only here in the summers & at Christmas time so we picked the visit that had the better weather! It was great to see her again & reminisce about our adventures on 1st River.

The girls from the dorm! Teena & Leanne were roomates & I lived just down the hall in my last year of university. Ahhhh back in the day!!!!

all our little girls!

Beach Boo!

They were pretty keen to get going today. I told them where we were going & that Teena & Boo were going too. The girls all started saying "We miss Boo & Teean, we miss them a LOT since we see them last time! Yeah! We MISS them! Alot!" So all I had to do to prompt them to get dressed & ready to go was say that Teena & Boo were getting ready to go & we had to hurry to go with them. No arguments, teeth were brushed willingly, shoes were on & they were all standing by the door waiting!

Teena & I decided to squeeze in one more visit with Leanne & her family at the lake before they went back home for the year.

The drive there was a little iffy, it poured rain most of the way & then after about an hour, it dried up & it was beautiful weather the whole time we were there! Honey was watching out her window, keeping an eye on the conditions (ever observant!) and kept noticing the rain etc and then she saw a brighter patch of sky off to the left & told me "Mumma! I see sun clouds over there!" (as opposed to rain clouds of course!)

We were there for hours & they never got bored. When it was time to go, even reasonable, agreeable Honey was ready to pitch a fit. BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO!!! Unfortunately we really couldn't stay any longer. Leanne told me they'd asked her when they could sleep over there. Now THERE'S a plan! haha!

The only down side was that 2 of them fell asleep on the way home which made bedtime a little tricky for Murray but I was out doing some club stuff so it wasn't such a problem for me, well til I got home at 9 anyway. Not sure what tomorrow will bring but today was a wonderful day!

Fantastic Wednesday!

Yesterday had several touch & go moments but today was one of those days where they were just fun & cute and sweet & I just loved them to pieces all day long! At bedtime I was tucking Sweetie in (for at least the 3rd time!) and she looked up at me with her twinkly little eyes and said "sing, please sing to me Mumma?" Now how could I resist a sweet little request like THAT??? I know, I know, I'm a sucker but if she was scamming me, it was totally worth it. : )

The fact that it's Wednesday is a big help of course. Playgroup takes care of our entire morning and then we hit the grocery store before going home. They're turning into real shoppers & were asking for stuff every 2 minutes! can we have this? can we get some of those? I was able to just say no & they dropped it but I'm guessing that eventually they'll escalate these attacks???

After coming home & unloading we had some lunch. Since they hadn't seen their stuff all day they were pretty content to play for a bit as I cleaned up the kitchen & made some biscuits. Then we got the sunscreen out & headed out to the pool. The warm weather has kept it at a decent temperature for them & I threw in quite a few buckets of hot water to help it out a bit more. Sweetie doesn't last too long so I wanted to give her a bit more time before her hypothermia kicked in!

I was so impressed to see Lovey floating on her back today all by herself!!!!!! She finally figured it out. She was really close last week at the lake so I knew if she got a bit more practice she'd have it soon. They've learned a lot this summer and are trying to swim across the pool now but still use their feet on the bottom to propel themselves. I haven't broken it to them that they're actually cheating ; ))) Let them have their fun right? I did see Lovey trying to use her arms to move herself around while she was doing her back float so I'm sure it's just a matter of time now.

I'm really anxious to see them be able to swim. We spend time at the beach every summer & it'd be nice to know they could doggie paddle at least! With the 3 of them, I think I'd be more comfortable with them in a pool if they had some survival skills! I'm not sure how swimming lessons would work at this age, I think you need an adult for each child maybe? One of those things that we would have liked to have done with a singleton. It just wasn't feasible to take them all to lessons when they were little. The prep alone was close to 2 hours to get us out of the house, plus a 20 minute drive all for a thirty minute lesson? I figured I'd just fill up our super big tub & teach them some stuff in there!

So since Wednesday was so swell, I totally expect things to bomb here tomorrow....

Camera Update

I phoned to check up on my little one & they have looked at it & found that the batteries were in wrong, 3 postives up & only one negative down. Since the plastic shink wrap labels weren't on, the metal casings got really really hot & now they have a few parts on order for me but don't have an estimate just yet. He assured me it'd be nowhere near the cost of a new camera though. Good to know!

Is it just me or has this been a really long week??? I can't believe it's been at the repair shop for less than a week. It feels like forever already!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't stand it any longer

I dug out my old point & shoot digital camera that takes TEN seconds between pictures and well, let's just say, you can't go back! However, it's slightly better than no new material so bear with me!
Lovey was having a rough afternoon! I asked her several times to come get her sunscreen on so we could go out to the pool & she kept saying "No I don't want any on!" I gave up & took the other two out to the pool & told her she could only play in the little strip of shade in the backyard. She didn't care much for that but was too proud/stubborn to back down from her "no sunscreen" stance. After awhile I took pity on her & moved the climber/slide thing into the shade so she could at least play on something.

That's my Sweetie Bunny! She finally took the plunge & "went RIGHT UNDER" She never minded getting her face wet or splashing & jumping around but didn't like sticking her whole head right in there. Well she's over that now & is doing laps back & forth all the time. She was so pleased with herself & I hooped & hollered every time (and every time I did, Honey would pop up and say "did you see ME? I went RIGHT UNDER TOO!")

Here are Sweetie & Honey working on their synchronized routine, should be ready for the Olympics soon eh?

Sisters forever!

VBS Pictures

Finally dug out my CD from Vacation Bible School & thought I'd share a few from our week. (especially since I don't have anything good of my own!)

Our fearless leader, working on the dance moves! She was so into it, her enthusiasm was very catching & kept everyone smiling & energized all week. She's awesome at her job!

Of course, what would VBS be without this guy?

Gotta love my Jesus action figure! (comes with fishes and loaves)

The kids all decorated, coloured, drew on a huge tablecloth that was hung in the hall for everyone to see & is still on display at church.

all I wanna do is dance, dance...

The VBS gang

getting ready to go to the mike to do their scripture verse

Did I mention that we like to dance a lot at VBS?

The Counter

Just wanted to say I love the counter Murray put on here for me! I'd been wanting one for awhile & figured I'd look into it eventually and he got it all done in an hour or two after I went to bed one night. It's really interesting to see how many visitors we get & where they're all from. (Belgium??? Carl is that your mom???) I look at the stats often to see where our visitors are coming from & what cities are giving us the most hits. I didn't even realize we knew anyone in Fond du Lac or in Dallas! Mystery lurkers... good thing? bad thing??? I just hope it's not my stalker!
