Valentine's Celebration!

My little Honey Bunny came home sick from school on Valentine's Day and spent the day with me as I got our big dinner ready! We had pan seared scallops with garlic orzo & asparagus, some chocolate dipped strawberries and a valentine's cake. She was mainly interested in her DS anyway and didn't pay me much attention at all! I did take a break and we played something she wanted to do but I forget what it was now..... dang.

Since she'd missed all the fun at school, I let her open a parcel that arrived in the mail that day & she found some treats from Nanny & Grampie. She also opened all her valentines from school and showed me who they were all from. There might have been a few treats sampled in there somewhere too but I really can't say for sure ;)

How convenient that Valentine's fell on Candle Monday! Unfortunately, our dinner guest wasn't able to make the festivities due to messy weather so she missed out on some of the festivities but we did come up with some things for her the next night...... To Be Continued..... ;)))

Next Up!

The next in the "lose your teeth" race is Sweetie! Hers has been loose for a loooooooooooong time but recently it got to be a real wiggler. The night before, she let me try to pull it out. I was able to get a hold of it and could feel it almost pull out so I had a feeling it would be out by morning. As she was getting ready for school I thought I'd give it one last try and gave a little extra tug & it popped right out. I didn't want her to lose it at school because that would be some unholy drama!!! She was quite surprised that it came out and was a bit upset because the hole where the tooth was had a bit of blood but she got over it quickly & started thinking about the money she'd be raking in!

It actually came out on Feb 10th but we didn't get a chance to take pictures for a few days.

Baby Pinecone!

Have you met Baby Pinecone? You'd think you would remember him if you had. Such a distinctive name would be memorable right? Well, you might not know him by this little term of endearment. Bunny made it up awhile ago and it's not catching on very well outside of triplet circles. It gives them great bursts of merry giggles whenever they say it. Even if you have heard it, you probably haven't been able to make out what they're saying. If you did understand it, you probably didn't believe it was really anyone's name anyway.

After supper we stopped to watch Baby Pinecone's curling game for a couple of ends before heading home for bed. They really enjoyed watching him on the ice and were not happy to leave before the game was over. Bunny had her nose pressed right up to the glass, she was so excited to watch Baby Pinecone in action!

I think Baby Pinecone enjoyed his cheering section!

Raising a Reader! :)))

Lovey loves to read her books. She keeps one on her nightstand and gets a few pages in every night while she waits for her turn to be tucked in. She brought one in the car on Sunday to go to Grammie & Grandad's. It must have been a really good one because she couldn't put it down for a second, not even to walk from the car to the house!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our V-day got off to a rocky start when Honey was tossing her cookies last night. When she woke up this morning she seemed to have recovered. She hopped out of bed & hollered "IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and immediately got dressed, ate her breakfast & got ready for school without any complaints. After they got on the bus, I headed out for groceries and was going through the checkouts when the school called, asking for a pickup!

I brought her home and she had a restful day and no further problems other than stomach pains now & then. She didn't eat much today but did feel well enough to sample some Valentine treats!

Lovey appears to be the next to go down, she went to bed tonight with a temp of 101... stay tuned for the continuing saga!!!

Sunday Ski!

On the way to my parents' we checked out another trail with the kids this week. It started out a little dicey. We had just popped all the skis on when Lovey decided she didn't want to go anymore. I ignored that until the screaming started piercing holes through the trunks of the trees & threatened her with removal of Harry Potter bedtime story privileges and that saved the rest of the forest!and then there was Sweetie! She'd brought two of the same mittens and although I found a different mitten (ie it didn't match) that fit the hand she'd forgotten, it just wouldn't do. Instead she wore the ones she'd brought with one being on the wrong hand and then tried to grip her pole. Guess what? not so easy. Suddenly she didn't want to ski anymore. Meanwhile, Honey has secured the lead position and zoomed off into the distance, never to be seen again. (well, til they turned around and met us on the way back). Then she & Lovey got racing down the hills and were loving the fast pace.

Once Sweetie got going, she loved the "high speed" parts as she called the downward slopes. Since none of us know how to slow down, turn OR stop, I was a bit apprehensive! Luckily we never met anyone coming the other way & we made it back to the car intact and with functioning eardrums. :)))
