Creative Writing!

Lovey wrote a thank you note for her prize money from the violin concert. They provided a sample of how to write a thank you but she didn't want anything to do with that! I think this has way more flare and personality than the canned version they gave her LOL

and while we're on the topic of writing, check out some other little samples! Since they all like/dislike different things, I get them to make a list of what they want in their lunch box each night before bed. Lovey dressed hers up a little tonight! I especially like the part that says "wow, that took awhile!" which I assume she jotted in there after all the decor was complete!

Murray mentioned recently that he might go up to the Oldtimers League next year and the girls are all horrified and against this move. I think they believe it's all senior citizens with canes and walkers and stuff!!!

Sunday Slam

The weekend craziness continued into Sunday! Luckily I was able to sleep a little longer in the morning but was still pretty tired out from being up in the night with Lovey. With no showers to do other than my own, we were ready at a decent time and picked up Tulip and we were off!

It was our minister's last day so it was a special service, with lots of special presentations. The choir did a rollicking good hymn, the kids sang to him, Lovey played a violin piece for him and here was a reception after church. The kids sang again at the reception and also gave him a matted sketch of the church that they'd all signed. The organizers had asked if "the triplets" would present his wife with a bouquet of flowers. I wasn't sure if the kids would be in to that or not want to do the triplet thing. They loved it! They dug out matching dresses, argued over how to all do their hair the same way and made sure they were in full triplet mode!

Something he'd mentioned during his time with us a few times was that he really missed seeing ladies wear hats to church. Word was sent around earlier in the week to find some headgear for Sunday and many people complied! I loved my hat and wish I had one for every week! so much fun!

It was sad to say goodbye to Peter and the kids don't think he should leave at all! He will be missed by everyone but he did mention that we'd see him again in the fall so hopefully he'll be popping in! Our new minister starts in July so we're looking forward to meeting her and getting some new things going with the young families for 2012-2013!

Busy Saturday Too!

Saturday started off with Lovey heading out to a violin rehearsal for 8:45. Then I got the other 2 up & ready & we headed to the gym to meet Murray for the hand off! I went to class & he took all 3 to the mall to pick up a bday present for the party that afternoon. After my class, I had a practice reading at church at 11 so I went to that and came home and rounded everybody up to go to the multiples BBQ to celebrate National Multiple Births Awareness Day. We had to leave early to get home in time for the bday party next door though. While the girls were at the party I went to pick up something to watch for movie night and also to search for a hat for the service on Sunday (more on that later).

By the time I got home the party was almost over and no one was very hungry for supper, having had their fill of hot dogs, cake & chips alllll day. I picked "The Greening of Whitney Brown" and they loved that! But you can't really go wrong with  "a girl and her horse" stories!

Another busy but fun day that came back to haunt us in the middle of the night when Lovey was standing by my bed saying she felt funny. As soon as I smelled the acidic breath, I leaped out of bed and propelled her sleepy little feet straight to the bathroom and got there in the nick of time! She was only back in bed for a few seconds when I heard her rolling back and forth, moaning and trying to get comfortable. I was pretty sure that wasn't going to happen and decided there was no point in going back to bed myself at that point. After a few minutes of that, I brought her back to the bathroom. Yep. Round 2 was on. Once that was over she felt much better and was able to get back to sleep. I was glad I'd decided to do all their showers before the movie and didn't have to get up early to do that!

Weekend Blur

The weekend kicked off into another whirlwind of activity and now we're back to Monday and I can't even say for sure that we had a weekend!
I picked the girls up from school and we ran to Costco to pick up food for the evening's activities and delivered it to its destination. Then we raced off to attend my cousin Liz's open house for her new daycare. She has a fabulous new, bright, spacious and clean facility. Liz is running a top notch place! For the open house she had some snacks and face painting!!! Lovey was right in there first thing and then Honey decided to check out the designs. Sweetie had a peek but didn't see anything she liked so wasn't going to bother. The face painter had no other people to work on so I tried to convince Sweetie to get something done. Finally she thought that if she could have a little bunny on her cheek, THAT would be worth doing. All the designs were super cute but Honey's was the only one that had action. If she scrunched her nose, she could make the penguin dance so that was pretty cool!

After Sweetie was done, there still wasn't anyone around so the girl asked me if I wanted one. I jumped in the seat so fast, your head would spin! I thought she'd just do a couple swirls around my eye but she had a lot of paint and time on her hands and I got a mega cool design. I hated to peel my gems off and wash it away at bedtime.

Once we'd had our visit, we went to pick up Murray & Tulip for movie night at the church. We cooked pizzas, had snacks and some ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert. Yummmy! Julie & I thought it would be fun to have a family even since we haven't had one in so long. It was all very last minute, we just brought it up at Sunday School last week and didn't think many would be able to make it. With that little notice, we had 26 people come! We couldn't believe it! Definitely something to repeat in the fall!
annnnnnnnnnnnn that's how Friday went!
