Wasn't That a Party!

Old Nanny has a birthday coming up and her family invited us to the party! We loooooooove parties so we were excited to be included :)

Old Nanny is one of the superheroes that saved our butts when the babies invaded back in the fall of '04. We had never met her but she was a member of our church and was well versed in babies & knew we were in over our heads. We are so blessed to have her "adopt" us. I learn so much by watching her & listening to her wisdom. She's a no muss no fuss kinda gal and rolls with the punches. She fits in so well with our crazy household and we love her to death. She's a very special lady and we wish her alllll the best! Happy Birthday Old Nanny, hope you enjoy your day tomorrow.

The kids had a ball, there were tiaras, beads, balloons and this super cool mini trampoline, what's not to love. Oh yeah, and Lovey made out like a bandit with an unmonitored basket of chips LOL

They were also thrilled with their discovery of strawberry ice cream. Apparently we have underexposed them to the concept of flavours.

Lovey managed to come in first place in the PTTOTD game but Murray and I watched her come out of the spin and march straight up to the poster & slap down her tail perfectly and without hesitation so we were pretty sure she was peeking under the blindfold. She confirmed this later and the other 2 were livid and wanted her to give back her mini Mars bar that she won! I was tempted to confiscate it myself that was for totally selfish reasons. Besides, aren't you sortof expected to cheat at that game anyway?

One of the many highlights was being able to take all the balloons down at the end of the party and bust them all up. These people know how to have a good time :)))

and now here she is with her real kids :)

Cave Kids

Great weather for digging a hole & crawling in! Brrrrrrrr! On Saturday the kids had a wee bit too much energy here so Murray took them all out to make a fort & some tunnels. They really got into their work and had quite a chunk dug out!

They managed to scavenge some icicles off the roof and ran around saying "en garde!" a lot :) and Honey pretended she was a unicorn (hard to see but she's using her icicle as her horn)

my industrious digging team!

The 2 hours of cold weather activity was sufficient to decrease the bountiful energy they were exhibiting earlier and after supper, they settled down pretty well for story time and crashed out at bedtime at record speed! Frigid weather is our friend!! :)))
