How excited are they anyway?

Let me assure you, they are PLENTY hyped up! This is a video clip of them with some company yesterday. Wild wild wild!

Every day they're more and more wound up and the countdown is checked & confirmed many times! They're enjoying their vacation and helping us get ready for Christmas! We're having lots of fun and we've managed to keep them from killing each other!

Fun Friends!

Our girls met Cheecha and her little sister at their preschool last year. They went to their first playdate at their house and have missed them now that they're at a different school. So since we're all on holidays with wildly hyped up kids, we decided to throw them all together in hopes of getting one big energy burst out and maybe some calm afterwards.
They fulfilled our first wish easily. The energy was intense, they were racing around giggling and squealing like little girls should. This is one happy crew. Tanya had only intended to drop by for an hour but we managed to "trap" her here for several hours as the kids cajoled Murray into a few rounds of hide and seek and enlisted him to be Peter Pan in their impromptu drama.
Then things got really exciting when Old Nanny dropped by in her Santa red best and dropped off gift bags big enough to stuff these kids in! So of course, they ripped out the presents and did exactly that.
They danced and skipped and sang and laughed hysterically and the energy burst went on and on with no end in sight. It was the perfect afternoon. Although they were a lot on the wild side, it was so enjoyable to watch their delight and the memories being made right before our eyes.
The high energy entertainment took its toll on Murray, but not before he had a chance to test out the new gear from Old Nanny :)
His brother saw this picture and said "
I know most of the faces that you make... and this one shows genuine excitement. You need to get out more."

What's not to love about these precious faces and those gorgeous smiles????

Hope your holidays are at least half as exciting as this afternoon was! Merry Christmas everyone!

Rora!

We had a surprise visitor the other day when Rora dropped in with presents for the girls! From the look on her face below, Lovey must have given her a bonecrusher of a greeting!!

She was our very first babysitter and the girls love her to death! She plays endless games with them, carries them around, brings movies for them and always has lots of activities.
Rora caught us outside playing in the snow on the last day of school with Tulip over to celebrate!

Switcheroo

Recently some room-envy talk started. Sweetie thought it was unfair that she had to be alone in her room & Lovey thought it would be much better to have a bigger bed. They'd asked if they could do a trade but we didn't want to mess with this on a weeknight and weekends fly by too fast to remember to try these experiments.

Now that we're on vacation and don't have the early morning bus to catch, we can afford to mess around a little! We gave it a shot the other night with absolutely no hopes that it would last longer than half an hour.
It took a little longer to settle down than normal but we expected that of course. There were many exclamations about how the new bed was soooooooo much better than their other one but after that they both just fell asleep. I'd expected there to be at least one change of heart & one who didn't want to go back and one big meltdown!
However, we are not disappointed by the lack of fire/waterworks. They've had a few nights in their new spots and still seem quite pleased with it. Lovey is thrilled to have so much space (although she's generally exactly where we left her whenever we go back in!) They moved most of their blankets and animals but have thought of a few more things they need to go back and get but bedtimes are fairly smooth. The new accommodations aren't what's keeping them up at night, it's the guy in the red suit who can whip them into a frenzy without even making an appearance!
