My sorry excuses

"I'm sooo busy", "just not enough time in a day", "so much going on lately", "I'm exhausted" .... I think I may have already used all of those but I like to be consistent so I'm going to stick with them all!

Last Saturday I went to an all day crop with Alisa & Joni & got some work done on my albums and had a nice long day to myself and 70 other scrap happy fools! Sundays are always a write off around here, church in the morning, home for lunch and then hit the highway to TV to visit M&D for Sunday dinner. On Monday we were invited out for lunch by Patti, one of my choir friends and she went all out! Some of you may remember my awesome helper, Sarah, from the infant days. She had recently graduated but hadn't picked up a full time teaching job. She overheard my choir friend talking to her mother about our situation and volunteered to come over and give us a hand. Besides my parents, Sarah was probably next in line for "most hours logged" at our house. She came and saved the day many times, sometimes 3 times a week. For about 4 months I was pretty sure she was my personal angel, getting me through some rough days! Eventually she started getting more jobs and wasn't able to come anymore. Then she got married and recently had a baby of her own. (good thing we got her all trained up!)

Anyway, Patti invited Sarah & her mom for lunch as well. The girls enjoyed Patti's toy selection, her fancy teddy bear sandwiches at their own special little table and I had a nice outing and a chance to meet Sarah's son. The night before, I was up til almost 4am and was a little groggy for the visit. No, not blogging obviously and not even goofing off doing anything fun like racing through a particularly riveting novel. The girls were up ALOT during the night, seemingly one after another. Sweetie's got issues with the dark, Honey woke up sobbing & screaming for me a couple times, tears and all and Lovey wet the bed once or twice I think.... all in all not pretty. It was good to have something to look forward to on the agenda. Staying home all day on our own would not have been a good idea! The girls loved the visit and had no desire to leave and refused to budge when I first mentioned it might be time to go.

Monday evening I was finishing up stuff for the party on Tuesday night. Tuesday day we had music class in the morning and Laura in the afternoon. My party was Tues night. Wednesday morning we had playgroup, and went for a walk in the afternoon & ended up visiting the farm. Thursday morning Shirley came to play and I washed windows, changed beds, scrubbed screens (man oh man did I see alot of dirt run off those, ewww!), hung out laundry... I was a machine! It's not just the blog that's been neglected lately! Then in the afternoon we went to visit Old Nanny and walked to the park & ran into one of my former coworkers. The girls loved the park and didn't want to leave there either! Honey screamed and cried all the way back to Old Nanny's house. I had to tug her along to keep her moving in the right direction but she held my hand nicely the whole way. Lovey had fallen down and scraped her knee and was crying about that so I had to carry her quite a bit. I'm sure I firmly validated the popular concept that life with multiples isn't worth living but there wasn't much I could do about that except keep walking. Luckily no passersby were foolish enough to strike up one of those "boy you've sure got your hands full!" conversations.... although punching them in the nose when I do technically have my hands full would have been difficult!

Once back at Old Nanny's (she walked with Sweetie & carried gear for me) she worked some of that grandmotherly charm & cured all ails with strawberries and icecream for them & chips and nacho dip for me. Then she took them all down to the playroom so I could goof off upstairs on my own. Have I mentioned that I love that place? Gotta remember to bring some bubblebath next time....

Then choir on Thursday night and errands today and voila, here we are!
