Definite Progress!

this is what the playhouse looked like yesterday morning before work got underway.

It's really coming along now! Yesterday & today saw some major headway and if the weather cooperates just a bit more, everything should be done by the birthday! (oops... I guess I should have painted the bottoms of the flowerboxes????)

The girls helped Murray do the painting yesterday and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Sweetie & Lovey got tired of it after awhile but Honey kept at it til I sent her in to watch a movie. She just kept talking about how much fun she was having and how much she loooooooooooooves painting! The paint also loved them and was all over them. They haven't mastered the scraping of the brush on its way out of the paint can and just dipped in and started walking so there were paint trails everywhere! Murray was much more patient with the mess than I was. Probably because he wasn't doing the bath later and having to try and comb it all out of their hair ;P Luckily most of it came out.

Isn't it cute??? Murray, Dad & Aunt Cathy logged many hours getting this done yesterday while I did meals, dishes, misc kid requestes/refereeing, and kept doing coats of paint on the trim pieces.

The weather has been playing havoc with the timeline. Murray desperately wants to have this done by their birthday but the rain last week has left the project in a bit of a time crunch. We've still got a bit of trim to put up, a door to hang and shingles to go on the front of the roof (back is done). Dad's coming tomorrow to save the day (again!) so I'm hopeful that the end is in sight. Murray put in a full day's work on this today too and only knocked off once the thunder started and the dark clouds rolled in.
