Honey, Lovey & Sweetie had been asking alllllllllllll over vacation if they could have a Christmas party with their friends. They'd been to one at someone else's house and thought they should have their own.
I tried to put it off til after Christmas at least as we had plenty to do beforehand! Even with all our other activities & new toys and visitors, they didn't forget about their plan! I didn't get off the hook after all so on New Year's Eve, 4 of their friends from preschool, plus Tulip from down the street, came over to decorate cookies and play dress up.
I baked all the cookies the night before so there would only be icing and sprinkles to contend with and clean up. The decorating went surprisingly well with minimal spillage, amazingly enough!
Tulip brought some mini Christmas crackers so they all got to pull one of those and get some cool new hats that are so flattering on everyone LOL
Once the cookies were done, they dug out the Hannah Montana rock star outfits we got for Christmas and sang and danced around the house.
The party went smoothly with Teena on board to help and my girls were pleased to have their party & play with their friends. So even when the year is almost over, it's not too late to squeeze in one more festive event. Each girl decorated three cookies themselves and most ate theirs before they left. Teena & I decorated the rest and everybody took home a plate of iced but unmangled treats to share with their family! and I didn't have too many left to worry about staying out of!
